Thanks. This product category has matured nicely from the days of the GP2X and Pandora.

I think realistically 5th gen would be the limit in the price range, right? Any recommendations on which are most versatile? I understand Android can be better for some emulators, and Linux for others.
Thanks! That class of device is probably where I’m leaning, having now poked around some other sites as well. Honestly, those issues are about what I’d expect from this pricepoint/feature combination, but they don’t seem like dealbreakers and sounds like it’s a usable SBC in a gaming friendly package, which is about what I’m after.
I think the SteamDeck might be overkill here. Something along the Miyo or Anbernic is what I’m thinking initially, but I have no idea what in this product category is worthwhile.
That was one of the posts that piqued my interest. Also think the Anbernic ones look decent.
Cool. I’ve always been intrigued by them. I have an Orbit Fusion out in the living room, with a button remapped to allow a grip closer to the classic 2-button Orbit. I just can’t quit that scroll ring.
How do you like that Ploopy? Did you assemble it yourself?
Those in particular are called XDA. They’re good for nonstandard layouts because every key has the same profile, which is to say it looks the same from the side. Amazon and AliExpress should have plenty of designs in that profile. DSA, ZDA, and a few other are similar “unsculpted” or “flat” keycap profiles.
EDIT: They’re most likely a clone set called “Gentleman”
LED joysticks that can select from over 16 million color options. This might not be practical, considering only about 25 different color settings would have been sufficient.
So the RGB leds come with 256 levels of brightness for each color. Don’t worry, article-writer, the company wasted zero extra effort on this “feature.”
I consider getting one of these things every once in a while, but then I remember that I’ve pulled my hacked PSP out of the drawer like three times in the last ten years, and I shrug and move on. It’s generally more fun for me to plug a USB controller into my computer for retrogaming.

I don’t think I’ve ever had to show my registration card, but both states send them out. Since Voter ID passed in Texas, though, I have had to bring my Drivers License, which given the shitty way the state runs the DL offices is another bullshit voter suppression tactic.
The voter registration card. Here’s a sample from a few years ago in a different county, but the one I had twenty years ago was similar.
It depends on the state. When I lived in Florida, there was a party on my id card. In Texas, there isn’t, though you can only vote in one party’s primary (including any runoffs) per election.
On the plus side, this particular router will work fine as a stand for a fondue pot.
The sense I get is that Sunak is just fucking over it and wants to be put out of his misery.
Because they lost the Civil War, duh. Also, the headline misspelled Tallapoosa and put up the wrong flag. Sheeeeeeeesh.
Headline is probably not wrong, but it’s definitely overdramatic compared to the actual story. Everything awful MS is actually doing is there barely a millimeter under the surface, but the story is more directly about how they’re jerking AMD and Intel around.
Still, it’s an impressively clear showcase of how much power Microsoft really has. It’s taken two companies that usually have their product cycles planned years in advance and kicked them into panic mode. Hopefully we don’t see a repeat once Microsoft finds it fit to bring Copilot+ to desktops.
Americans absolutely have to own it, and many of us try to. America has consistently made awful decisions regarding race.
The point is more that white Europeans are not special, and much of the perceived enlightenment from Europe is either top-down messaging from socially unassailable elites, or from societies that are homogenous enough that the economically insecure don’t (yet) blame their struggles on the tiny number of visible minorities in their community.
Americans who “whatabout” any criticism from an imperfect messenger are probably not acting in good faith, but the inverse is worth considering as well.
Do you find you are able to emulate much that can make use of the analog sticks? The RG Arc-S and -D have similar internals and a nice screen, but they seem to have been consigned to the discount pile for lack of analog sticks (and maybe being late to the game for RK3566 models). As a Genesis kid, I always liked the Sega controllers of that era.
