Kagi isn’t a competitor to Google because search engine isn’t Google’s product.

Collecting user data and monetizing it is Google’s business product, and they are far and away ahead of any other “competition”.

They don’t even need the search engine anymore to collect user data. They have millions of people using Chrome, watching YouTube, using Gmail, using an Android phone…etc

I know exactly how it works. I use it every day. I never said it isnt easy. I said it’s more steps to set it up.

Rufus: run exe, pick iso, run it

Ventoy: run exe to install it, run it to configure the drive, copy ISOs over to the drive

For setting up a drive that’s going to be used repeatedly and continually changing what’s on it, Ventoy is the superior tool.

For a one time use to quickly get a ISO over to a USB… Rufus is quicker and gets the job done.

…and again…OP already has Rufus in hand. There’s no reason to get another piece of software that doesn’t offer any advantage to OP’s task.

Ventoy is great, but…

1. It takes a few more steps to setup than Rufus, and you still have to set the right boot mode

2. The tool OP already has should work so there’s no need to send him to download another piece of software if he can complete the task with what he has.

UNetbootin stopped being useful a long time ago. Rufus is OK as long as you set it up right.

Partition scheme: MBR

Target system: BIOS or UEFI

File system:FAT32

Then in the BIOs setting on the HP go to advanced and set “Legacy Support Enabled”. Save and exit.

Smash the F9 key repeatedly during boot to pull up the boot menu. You should see your USB device listed to pick and boot from.

If this lets you monitor the patch status of the end clients in your org, then it’s actually cheaper than existing solutions used for managing regular Windows updates.

The only questionable part is how reliable, trustworthy, and secure is 0patch themselves?

Allowing a third party access to patch system level files opens the risk of a rootkit install. (In fact their agent being able to access system would function much like a rootkit itself).

They could easily backdoor something into thousands, or even tens of thousands of PC very quickly. Make a huge botnet, steal data, etc, etc.

Assuming they are trustworthy themselves, if their security is compromised, either from hackers or even a rogue employee, the same results could happen and could take a long time to discover.

Soviet Strike was really good. One of the first PlayStation games I played (rented from Blockbuster!)

I remember being blown away by the video cutscenes in a game.

It STARTED from the work of community members. Then Epic jumped in and took over with the promise of their backing of the community team. Then once they had control over it they scuttled the ship.

So maybe stop overfishing the oceans??

They’ve dumped $2billion of that back into developing this game. That’s 4x as much as they spent on RDR2 and about 5x as what they spent on GTAV.

So as far as “I’m not sure they even bothered” goes, well it seems they bothered quit a bit more than they did on those other games which were both epic.

Even the ROG Ally comes with a free month of GamePass Ultimate, and a new Xbox comes with 90 days. I don’t see why a MS first party handheld wouldn’t come with some.

Microsoft could just drop a Windows handheld that can play Xbox games natively.

The Xbox already runs on a custom VM based on Windows 10/11. Microsoft themselves are the only ones keeping the two who systems separated by artificial software limitations.

They are talking about application updates, not operating system updates.

We’re at a point where a company makes an operating system used by a majority of the population while they force you to use your personal online account to log in

I find it hilarious to see how many people rage at this from their iPhone or Android phone where they are logged in with a personal online account in order for the device to function.
