So this latest wave of pointless attacks is to try to destroy the competition of their next console, yeah?

Not seeing the full extent is not the issue, the issue is not seeing basic variety. They need to let their algorithms run more wild with what they generate, imo. If every animal looks roughly the same in a game about exploring a vast universe, then the algorithm has failed and the game suffers massively for it. I haven’t played enough NMS to say if that’s an issue with the flora and fauna, but it is an issue with the planets.
Idk, old Minecraft generation was excellent. All they really needed to do was make it literally deeper/taller and make the biomes wider. The extreme and weird landscapes were rewarding to explore on their own back then. Imo developers just need to be comfortable letting interesting landscapes from instead of boring, uniform ones like NMS does. The novelty would eventually wear off, sure, but it’d last a lot longer.
And community worlds is an excellent idea. Having custom planets, or hell even just things players have made in their games, show up would add a lot to any game like this.
On the one hand, i fully believe they should be able to target players they know are a problem without them strictly breaking TOS, but i tend not to completely trust corpos. Not that i care about riot games anyway.
No a-life no buy.
I’m more of a cataclysm gal than zomboid, but that looks like a great update
What the actual fuck? Is this game some kinda developer revolt? Are they trying to sink the studio?
Didn’t the overgrowth developer make half of a game, release it, then fuck off into the aether? Why are they doing anything? Much less badgering valve
That’s, like, the one thing that needs to function properly in stalker tho
Absolutely, but Japan doesn’t exactly have a good view of business and it’s place in society.
I mean, a spiritual successor is absolutely on the horizon. It’s a genuine masterpiece, artists will be emulating it in some way for decades at least.
I don’t think people quite grasp how big and terrible this news is. Kadokawa is the entertainment company. You have a favorite anime? It’s probably kadokawa’s or at least related to them some how. You like Japanese jank games? Chunsoft belongs to kadokawa. RPG Maker classics? RPG Maker belongs to kadokawa. Novels? They are a big publisher in addition to owning bookwalker. Not to mention the random shit they have like niconico. Did i mention tourism? Because they have a lot of that too.
This could genuinely be catastrophic for Japanese culture (and that means otaku culture too, weebs)
Man, i hope bioware paid good money for this article
That looks so weird
This could unironically be a dark age for Japanese culture, if our experience with sony in Western circles is indicative of anything
More than just that, they are big novel publishers, they own spike chunsoft, hell they even have their hands in tourism and some science labs! Idk the broader culture of Sony, but experience with their gaming branch says this will be the disaster of our times for otaku.
That’s not just what’s at stake. Kadokawa is a massive company and this will hurt industries from books to anime to game development outside of fromsoft. On the publishing and consumer facing sides, btw. Apparently they even own a few scientific and tourism endeavors!
This is the end of an era the way the dark ages were, not the way the end of CGDCT in favor of isekai was
Not just a few games, this is gonna hurt anime too.
Usually platformers or games with strong platforming elements. Once i get into RainWorld i rush to the top of the food chain.
