McDonald’s doesn’t work with insurance companies to raise the price of a burger. Credit card companies don’t work with their customers to increase the profit of their products. Market makers just exist to make money on each transaction any way. No collusion needed.

Modern inflation has nothing to do with supply/demand.
We exist in a supply side economy, meaning that demand is always less than available supply. Yet inflation is a real problem. Current inflation is largely do to a variety of middle men getting entire pieces of transactions - credit card fees, payment for order flow market making, insurance, etc.
Any business that relies on production will not see existing demand change. McDonald’s for instance does not make it’s money off selling food - they make money off of real estate and licensing. You’ll see McDonald’s jobs disappear, but the demand for cheap fast food will still exist. Local diners will pop up to take their place.

Obviously we don’t want to prove that, it doesn’t benefit anyone. But given that Ukraine is now fortified within Russian territory, and the main opposition to ever invading Russia was the threat of nuclear retaliation, I really doubt it. Especially considering how crazy the Kremlin is.
It’s kind of really reassuring to think about. China being the sole MAD player could end the anxiety of nuclear extinction for a long, long time. The West has no intentions of using them again, and I have no doubt China is not interested in it either. They seem to be pretty good about the whole self-preservation thing, at least in theory if not always in practice.
I didn’t think a lot of the U.S. weapons were modern to our arsenal. I know the Brits and Danish had, so I understand that.
But any strikes within Ukraine against Russian forces could place those platforms in such a position, and we know from history that Russia has a way to pull tech recovered from the battlefield. I doubt that’s the main reason.
I really don’t think the entire West has to worry about being dragged further into the conflict at this point.
Russia is throwing bodies at the war, and it has shown that it lacks modern equipment and modern strategy. The failed tests of the ICBM and other nuclear delivery vehicles show they have no teeth other than their psychological and social campaigns which are now easy to recognize.

Like I’ve been saying since several red lines ages ago. Don’t threaten nuclear retaliation if you can’t back it up. Countries with working nukes don’t need to threaten other countries with them, because it’s pretty well known who has them.

The same argument could be said if they made a 1GW solar farm, or any other form of power generation. Unless you have a way to legislatively prevent Microsoft from producing their own energy or prevent acquisition of decommissioned plants, I don’t see how you can prevent waste.
