What I mean by that is there is a lot of training for heart attacks/cardiac arrest and significant trauma, but not a whole lot for general illnesses or more minor health problems.

I have an EMT license in America and am currently in medical school. EMT training is entirely centered around “stabilize the patient and get them in front of a physician”. They have a limited range of capabilities, but the training they do have is focused on the things that will kill you quickly, and a brief overview of other things.
See, I’m planning on trying to steal your business by going into emergency medicine to be a necromancer. (I have done CPR on people that have actually woken up to complain about it…you cannot convince me that CPR/resuscitation is not necromancy.)
4 years of medical school and a few years of residency (and maybe fellowship) in pathology. So you’re talking 12 to 16 years of post-high school education because it’s becoming more and more common to have to have a post-bacc or a master’s to get into medical school in the first place.
The driverless robo-taxis are also a concern. When one of them killed someone in San Francisco there was not a clear responsible entity to charge with the crime.
The current court cases show that the manufacturers are trying to fob off responsibility onto the owners of the vehicles by way of TOS agreements with lots of fine print and Tesla in particular is getting slammed for false advertising about the capabilities of their self-driving features while they simultaneously try to force all legal liability onto the drivers that believed their advertising.
The lack of accountability means that there is nothing and no one to take responsibility when the robot/computer inevitably kills someone. A human can be faced with legal ramifications for their actions, the companies that make these computers have shown thus far that they are exempt from such consequences.
I tended to get them when I was logging in regularly. I figure 2k hours for me and around another 2k hours for my friend is worth the amount I’ve paid in. It’s pennies per hour of entertainment and it’s a better game with a nicer community than a lot of the AAA titles out there. Also, to my knowledge, DE seems to treat their employees fairly well and I would rather give my money to that kind of studio as opposed to the more abusive ones out there.
I’ve paid DE a fair amount of money over the years, but I only ever buy plat when I get the 75% off coupons (which has happened bizarrely often to me) and when I was working. I have over 2k hours in Warframe, and I feel like I was also covering my friend that I play with for when they were unemployed and couldn’t buy anything. Most of my plat goes to gifts for my friends and the occasional shiny thing for myself.
I also really appreciate the fact that it is perfectly possible to get the premium currency without spending a penny yourself through the trading system. Not to mention the fact that there isn’t any content behind a paywall. You can skip some RNG grind or get cosmetics, but the premium currency won’t buy you anything you can’t get otherwise.
(I am probably going to pay for the Tennocon access pass though because the exhibitions and Baro at the relay are actually super awesome)
Mine does that sometimes, but there’s plenty of times when it’s just being a glitchy pile of garbage. I’ve got a fully updated pixel 8 pro and a 2021 Subaru Crosstrek, but sometimes they just don’t like to talk to each other correctly. It’ll also do this fun thing where it just fails to turn on the mic for phone calls until I reboot the phone and the car before reconnecting them.
If Android Auto is active, it blocks me from opening Google Maps on my phone and I have to mess with the touchscreen interface a bunch before it offers to let me use my phone’s keyboard while stopped. It would be less annoying if the voice search option and the search interface on the car’s touchscreen was less bad.
Yes! I fucking love buttons and dials! And maybe Android Auto can just heckin’ let me use my phone keyboard when I’m stopped.
What the above commenter said is generally good advice, but I would add on limiting your social media intake. Finding an online community to interact with (with voice or video chat kinds of things involved) is a better use of online time. For the coding, you could try moving that to the morning, and socialize in the afternoon/evening, and that will help you get on a more normalized schedule. If your leisure time is spent mostly with other people, it’s a lot easier to sign off and go to bed when everyone else does as well.
Edit: Also throw in a multivitamin and 2000-5000IU of Vitamin D3 because nutritional deficiencies can cause psych problems as well as exacerbate or prolong said psych problems.
Bullets are a lot more expensive than bandages most of the time.
(Edit: that is not to say that this is a reasonable allocation of resources in this situation. The appropriate ratio would be zero bullets and a couple dozen new, fully equipped hospitals and several hundred well-stocked kitchens.)
I was just looking for a game like this earlier today. This is perfect!
A social hobby that gets her out of the house might be the ticket here. Maybe look into your local community centers and whatnot to see if there’s something like a couples dance class that you could do together or yoga classes. Having ways to socialize that are not food-centric goes a long ways towards building better habits.
I grew up in a mostly (75% or so) Hispanic neighborhood and I don’t think I’ve ever heard the word “gringo” in a non-derogatory tone of voice or context. And perhaps sympathy was not the correct word to have used there. I think “empathy” might better convey what I meant as it is my assumption that you are trying to convince people to see the situation from your point of view. Asking someone to empathize and/or agree with your viewpoint does take some diplomacy in many cases, and demanding evidence that is likely not in a language the commenter speaks is not going to be very helpful. While Mexico is an important country with a large population and substantial global economic impact, any news about Mexico that reaches the US in English is unlikely to present the internal politics of the country in a nuanced or detailed way.
That is something that has the possibility of being immensely helpful, provided the cooperation of a substantial portion of the Indian population and the entirety of the Indian government. I truly wish there was something that could be done about from where I stand, but the problem is extremely ingrained and, in some ways, endemic to that culture.
That’s the idea.
