Commercial realestste makes up a significant amount of rich people’s investment portfolios. And if people stopped needing office space the property would devalue and those rich people would lose easy money.

So they have all collectively agreed to force their workers back to the office I order to keep the real estate values up and keep their investments positive.

  • Hong Kong itself as well as the Kowloon peninsula were actual territories that belonged to the UK after they were ceded to them after the opium wars.

It’s only the “new teritories” which were several smaller islands surrounding Hong Kong island that were part of the 99 year lease.

Even if no effort was made to secure the new territories, we could have and should have defended Hong Kong and Kowloon as part of Britiain, as the people wanted to be either independent or remain British.

Thatcher rolled over and sold their futures to appease China.

  • It seems like the country is totally polarised because the most extreme people shout the loudest.

People who are undecided don’t make memes or aggressive twitter posts about how undecided they are etc.

And while the GOP establishment are fully on Trumps side there is a sizeable contingent of people who are usually republicans that are put off by trumps bullshit, but still don’t really want to vote for a “lib” like Biden either. And if he “supported hamas terorrists” that very well could be more than enough to put them off.
