Yes, it was far far more than just a buggy release. Even if the game was originally released in the state it’s in now people would still have been pissed. The bugs were just a distraction.
Amazing, I was reading about the idea of them doing this a while ago. Makes me wonder if the future of shipping will see a return to some of the old trade routes that are more favourable for the winds.
What is really being discussed here is archiving of master recordings and session files. The publically avaliable releases themselves aren’t really in jeopardy. Orthough piracy probably does provide an extra layer of security to more obscure releases.
