Congrats!
One of your early stories got me into playing Zomboid with my buddies.
So barring this post, which one is the most up voted one?

- Good keyboard with text navigation keys (Home, End, Page Up, and Page Down) and a sensible layout: delete at the top right, no stupid replacement of normal modifier keys with fingerprint readers or copilot keys, no tiny arrow keys, etc.
- Good touchpad that’s precise, doesn’t lag, and allows clicking on most or all of the total area
I don’t think these should be that important. Even if one uses a single device for every need in the form of a laptop, one can still attach a keyboard and mouse to it. The worst customizable keyboard and wireless mouse will still be better than whatever the laptop has built in.
I have an acquaintance who is a lead Dev at an Indie studio where he is developing and training an NPC behaviour engine with thousands of responses and actions. Think fallout or mass effect response wheel, where 2-4 dialogue choices have 2-4 outcomes, but instead you can tell the NPC anything and it will have a different response. Or it will do different things whether you hand it a book, give it book, throw a potion at it or cast a healing spell on it or hug it. It could also change tactics if you tried to snipe it vs if you went at it melee. All of these are trained and accounted for and made in a way where it can be built into any game using a certain engine. And this is just aimed at generic npcs, not companions.
So if this is what disclosure of the use of generative AI means, I’m not against it. I think there is nuance to what can be done with it. Using final art assets? It’s theft. Writing? Theft. NPC behaviour? Definitely not.
Time for pirate sites to use something other than cloudflare?
I think they mean the automated party queueing and match making systems, which takes out the social aspects from MMOs altogether.
Okay… And what’s China going to do with your encrypted data running through their VPN servers?
Maybe that’s all the more incentive to use them, since they deffo won’t tattle on you to the UK or Canadian govt.
That dude is +4 for me, and I haven’t noticed any weirdness!
But Microsoft already bought Activision Blizzard.
Sorry. By manga I’ve meant image data, like pngs or JPEGs.
Maybe it’s the regular vs Pro lineup. I never had any experience with the regular lineup. I’ve bought my wife a 14 Pro, and the experience there is the same as on mine.
Is there something similar for manga? Something that can overlay Japanese text on images, similar to what we have on smartphones but for the PC?
Weird, I have the opposite experience. After an S3 Mini and a Xiaomi Redmi 3 Pro, my gf let me try her iPhone 8 for a bit and I was amazed by how smooth it was running. I’ve bought a 11 Pro in early 2020 and have been using it ever since. Still works like on the day I’ve bought it, no slowdowns, smooth as hell. I did do a battery swap after the fourth year though.
I wouldn’t mind trying a Pixel with GrapheneOS though. But all Pixels are so large compared to the iPhone Pro lineup.
I’ve been on the waiting list for my PS5 for the past four years. Just like my family doctor.
But… the girl on the left looks like a Latina.
Holy shit, I sat down at my desktop every day for an hour or two over the four day Quebecois long weekend, trying to figure out what went wrong.
Least I had lots of time to spend with my wife and kids.
Edit: honestly, I wish pacman would have actually handled this without a required manual intervention.
Edit2: lesson learned. Read the news before updating.
Yeah, it was a very wasteful system. As in wasting both my time and that of tax payers.
I didn’t care that I was technically entitled for unemployment money. After the first three locations that I’ve gotten offered, including sitting through a job seminar that quasi-turned into a car-wash operator course, where I was surrounded by folks that were really eager to take that job offer, I’ve declined further appointments at the youth job centre and sought out IT employers by myself.
Maybe this is too communist for some people, but it would be nice if some government body just matched me with a job that matched my skillset and education
I actually used government services, while unemployed, back in the early 2000s, but they were very miss. All they seemed to be focusing on was you hitting a quota of seeking out employers that they have listed for you, regardless of what you claimed to be as your profession or qualifications. Just so you can stay on the dole.
Laser Squad, playing couch hot-seat is what sent me down this path.
I really liked Jagged Alliance 2, Afterlight and especially X-COM: Apocalypse. Apocalypse had such radical departures from the first two Ufo titles, which did not make it very well liked among enthusiasts, in particular the real-time battle mode. But the game had such fun mechanics and steep difficulty curve, I really enjoyed the challenge of it, as opposed to getting another Enemy Unknown clone that was TFTD.
I avoid soda, but if I absolutely had to choose in a lineup of the usual and kofola was included, it’d definitely be kofola.
