I keep meaning to play the first one, it’s always looked pretty interesting to me. This looks pretty exciting for a trailer too
Ubisoft are genuinely speedrunning their way towards a shutdown and a buyout
The A580 launched at 175$+tax. We are not talking about the same card
Hopefully it will bring some decent generational improvements. The only thing i’m not a huge fan of is the 45% price increase over lasts gen, which isn’t even putting used or discounted cards into consideration
That shouldn’t really be news to anyone. They’ve stretched themselves almost too thin with the scale of Elden Ring, and it’s a miracle, that it’s turned out this damn good.
But even besides that, I’d always take a well put together game every 5 years, than some uninspired yearly slop. Good games are still art
My experience is aligned with this. I’ve barely had any issues at all, especially in the 6.x cycle.
There was one pretty annoying panel bug, which was caused by Nvidia, but i’ve sent them reports, and they fixed it in the next driver release. The other one is a thirdparty addon, where under a certain setting combination, your shell would occasionally restart, but again that’s not a Plasma bug
For nix-darwin specifically, the cleaned up build process, and SDK packaging is nice. It hasn’t eliminated all the issues, but a lot of those are less of a fault of Nix, and more an issue with macOS design. Hoping they can be addressed somehow, but for now, the issues with workarounds are tracked.
And just in general, Python has kind of been a pain in the ass to understand, so any improvement is exciting, as i’m still learning how things work here.
A bunch of packages I want got officially merged or updated during this release cycle too, and as much as I appreciate thirdparty flakes, I don’t want to rely on them too much
If you’re into older rpgs, i would wholeheartedly recommend the Gothic trilogy. Will fit just under 5$, but they’re absolutely insane value for the money. With that you’ll also get Archolos for free, which has blown all expectations away entirely. This mod ended up being better than a lot of big-budget titles I’ve played, and they’ve done it all out of pocket
Been a very exciting release.
The nix-darwin upgrades come along right as i migrated my Mac to Nix, but even outside of that, all the package and module merges are always welcome. All my machines run Nix now, so the less work I have to do manually, the better
These talking points are more important than a lot of studios realize. Taking away from both your successes, and your failures, is key for iterating on good products. Meanwhile, Ubisoft blame the “toxic community” for everything they do wrong
That doesn’t even put into consideration all the games that run perfectly fine, but have no proper input support, or those that require minor tweaks/mods, as mentioned. The number would have been colossally larger as a result.
Still unbelievably impressive though, granted that any of “proper” consoles will never see a game library of this scale
As much as i think the LCD one is insane value, especially the cheapest one, i know i’ll be keeping it for a long time, so i just want the better model. The display improvements are hard to ignore, plus you get a battery life boost too, and that on its own is the selling point for me
Well, I was hoping to buy a Deck to begin with, but doesn’t look like the OLED models are on sale.
For now, i’ve grabbed the STALKER trilogy, Gnorp Apologue and Guildwars
Alleged would imply that it isn’t a proven fact
“Anti cancel culture hub” is a weird way to say alt-right echo chamber

They may be crossbuy, which will definitely be awesome, but then it’d still have to buy a PC copy, and a Playstation one. Same reason why my Switch has basically become a Xenoblade Chronicles machine. I don’t like paying double for an inferior version of the game, just so I can play it handheld
People continue to buy it, so they will continue selling it. On top of that, gaming isn’t even their biggest market, so we stopped, it wouldn’t put a dent into their business.
It’s a big shame though
That’s current Verge for you. It only got worse since then
