I have a colleague who is really into Rick and Morty and has colorful hair. He’s one of those who has a pink/purple theme with little to no contrast. I keep my distance.
Today I sat down at the computer around 8:30, had lunch around 10:55 - 12:00, then at 13:00 - 14:30 I went for a walk with my wife and 6 month old son to feed ducks which he absolutely loved, and I stopped working at 16:10. Adding all that together should equal to… I don’t care. The company who bought us and ruined everything had a 1.5 hrs townhall yesterday with 880 attendees, equating to some €30k lost in man power.
It’s not wrong, but it feels a bit like some tech articles you’ll see which are obviously just created to fluff up a CV. I wouldn’t say avyttring here is flat out wrong, just kinda… lacking.
But yeah, /boot holds “system boot loader files”, sure, but that’s a bit vague. It should contain your kernel and initramcpio and IIRC Grub also had its config here. That’s pretty much it. I would’ve rather said /boot contains the kernel.
“device files” it’s so vague that it’s almost wrong IMO. At first glaze I would’ve thought that it means drivers rather than, say, “interfaces to devices”
I don’t trust a graphic which explains /boot as “system boot loader files”…
Not only do they force you to use the App Store, developing an app for iOS is a nightmare. Without special tools you must have a mac and a $100/yr apple developer license.
After having to deal with that shit at my old place of work I’ve moved to never touch app development again.
Sorted Food. Once they started with the Pass It On format they really declined. Now all their videos are pass it on sand Chef Reviews Gadets and no more actual cooking videos, especially not recipe videos.
This is the way. There is a GParted distro that you can boot from a USB-drive that will allow you to move the partition and expand it to take up the free space Windows left.
You should first install GParted to familiarise yourself a little with how the GUI looks. It’s relatively simple, definitely simpler than parted, but it doesn’t hurt to have a look around before doing it live.
It’s also good to note that everything you do in GParted needs to be applied before it’s actually done. You “cannot” accidentally delete a whole partition without actually hitting an apply button.
I use IntelliJ for web development (switched from a Java based team to web based) and I don’t really notice any problems. Even with VSC and VS running simultaneously.
I don’t remember how it was in my previous team as I’ve walled of those memories and experiences for mental health.
Or at Älgens Hus where they’re tame! Then you really get to appreciate how fucking gigantic those beasts are.
Here in Sweden you can cancel a subscription however you wish (as long as it’s within reason). You can send a company snail mail, email, go by their office, phone, text, whatever reasonably reaches them. They’re not allowed to pull the “Oh, buy you have to call [number which leads to an antichurn department]” or “please tell us why” (but of course they’re gonna try anyway. If it’s an online form you usually have a “I don’t want to disclose why”-reason).
I use Signal and refuse WhatsApp. However, my karate club uses Messenger to communicate, for example if you can’t show up one night.
My shihan asked if I could communicate with him over WhatsApp, which I declined. But I like the idea of being able to text him that I can’t show up, or if there are some changes needed to our website. Things which aren’t exactly sensitive.
I think the UI is perfect, it’s simple and intuitive. The fact that they removed support for SMS is a bummer, sure. I’ve had issues with notifications before, but I haven’t missed any in months. Facebook Messenger (which I’ve fully replaced with Signal) was however a puring pile of shit when it came to sending notifications in time - just like Teams and Ops Genie!
I left and joined Lemmy. After a couple of months of being flooded by politics in /c/memes, actually it’s everywhere, and very little new content I started going back. Now I doomscroll both. I usually head to reddit after a couple of posts which portray me as a fascist because I’m not a Marxist.
