AND GOT. SO. FAR.
It’s not very difficult getting startet with the fediverse. You just need to put in a little effort. It’s the lack of that mentality I think we’re better off without.
Welcoming users who don’t understand or care for a community is like taking in a stray dog and letting is piss all over your house.
I’m not setting any rules on who is welcome or not (I’m not in any right to do so), I’m just saying how it will go if you insist on getting everyone and their grandmother on board.
I can’t count the number of times I’ve asked a question on reddit and the answers I got was of no use at all. I would rather have no answers than have to read through a lot of nonsense from a bunch of wannabe-know-it-alls.
If they don’t know how to use the fediverse and can’t be bothered to reseach how to, I think we’re all better off without.
I would start from scratch. Starting by planning the new layout based on all the knowledge I have gathered through my current setup.
My current setup works fine, but it suffers from being a trial and error setup. There are some organization and automations I would have done differently knowing what I know now, and some devices I would have switched. But it works, so I don’t bother correcting it. But if I was moving to a new house, it would be the perfect excuse to get that done.
I’ve heard lenovo makes some nice ones.
The OS install has more features.
Liftoff works pretty well.
I’m gonna argue that it’ll be good for business. The more teeth you got, the more toothpaste you’re gonna need.
