For those waiting, definitely try out Memmy for iOS. Right now it is in Test Flight, but should be releasing any day now. The dev seems super passionate and the app has gotten exponentially better in just a couple weeks.
It doesn’t seem organic. Protest posts would get 95% upvotes, then suddenly 12 hours later get slammed with bootlickers and downvotes.

New posts are currently added to the top of the page, regardless of sorting order. This is a bug.
Maybe if you were sorting by new, you’d want some sort of behavior like that. But it also makes it impossible to look at any posts or comments further down the page.
Ok, sure. But what if your instance became popular and started costing you hundreds per month? Or in a couple years and you lose interest, do you keep paying for it? What happens to all of the content that users created on your instance?
That’s an interesting idea. Maybe you could even choose the “default subs” for your instance from across lemmy.
Better get to posting so potential new users can see that it’s active!
