I am surprised Factorio has not been cited yet. This game is addictive!
I have this exact GPU and can game everyday on my Linux computer with very good performance, so I am not worried for you, you will find a way to fix it. I don’t know about this game in particular but for each game I install, I always check protondb website for other user experience on the game and copy past the commands other users recommend. Then I paste the command in steam settings for the game. Moreover I use feral gamemode which helps improving performances, and proton ge.
Don’t know what games you are playing, but I game myself quite heavily and doing it exclusively on Linux. Steam proton has changed a lot of things for Linux gaming. Only issues are with anti cheat. So if you are playing single player you are good to go. Multiplayer can be difficult, it depends on the game. I have 200 hours on Apex in Linux.
Love this game. For me it scratched the same itch as outer wilds and return of the obra dinn which are my all time favorites games.
I love those things. In some years we will maybe see someone built a calculator like what happened in Minecraft.
Yes, but then I remember that my account is only 2 days old, and maybe I am just too impatient now.
Yes, I had the same feeling reading some comments on one of the community I browse. It even made me think about some arguments I had outside of reddit, about politics especially privacy matters, where some people where in the same cynicism state of mind, saying politician are in power anyway and we cannot do anything and they have nothing to hide anyway, etc.
Dev difficulties are still there and not the same. Don’t understimate netcode, or just simply gun feel, balancing, map design, sound design. Those are very difficult to get right even if you do not have to write a story or code NPCs. Each games have different challenges.
artisanvideos. I love a good japanese watch maker making a wooden cabinet in a rainforest with rocks as tools.
It’s interesting but it’s not running doom but serve as a display.
