There was a lull there for a while but it looks like he’s coming back!
They’re talking specifically about the word wrapping. Note in their screenshot it is properly rendered in monospace code block font.
Sync markup/rendering is presently a semi-completed conversion from reddit’s and it’s functional enough.
Yeah, I love Sync, but currently it’s the last thing I would pick to set a standard
Domains are pretty inexpensive. I’ve used Namecheap but shop around.
Oh I was just making a light-hearted joke about the demographic here, it’s definitely still good info to include.
Hopefully some will still leave in time. I should have left reddit years before I did.
Who here doesn’t have at least one unused domain?
Well, on Lemmy you don’t follow users anyway
Crucially, users also retain the ability to migrate to different servers without losing their followers, which is a stark contrast to traditional platforms, where leaving means starting over and building up a following from scratch. This is a particularly crucial feature for influencers and content creators, who were recently faced with losing millions of followers during the recent TikTok blackout.
Is this actually implemented anywhere?
Coffee is already getting more expensive, I’m assuming everywhere :/
I see where you’re coming from but meanwhile I’m here using crowd sourced addons to even skip embedded video sponsorships.
I also gave it another try after many years lol
You’ve been here for two years and haven’t installed a blocker yet? That’s almost impressive
This is bullshit. I don’t use an ad-blocker
You should be kinder to yourself.
Appreciate it!
Ideally when an instance goes down, all its posts and comments and users are replicated in the network and possible to get.
Federation allows this, no? Provided your instance is old enough to have federated with the content in the first place.
Yeah, I thought about it more after commenting. I can’t know for certain what I would do given a bad timeline. Maybe I’d just go offline, spread fliers, something.
I thought so too. But I think moderation actionsaren’t federating. So if I understand correctly a removed post for example will only be removed from view form users of your instance?
