Thank you. That’s a very nice summary.

Thx for replying. Would you expand on the idea why VPN wouldn’t help with increasing the person’s privacy?
BTW, I have tried logging in using Tor. It pretty much works normally but slightly more slowly. Of course, Tor throws more fits depending on how the connection is created, so you are right, I personally would hate having to use it regularly.
Thx for the reply. For the sake of discussions here, if someone think they can increase the privacy by always using Tor to access all the fediverse accounts, and let’s just assume they don’t ever miss (for me, this probably is unlikely). How do you think this increases linkability to their … ?
Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I think this makes sense when you trust your VPN provider more than your ISP/government.
Thx for the reply. I probably wouldn’t want discuss anything indicating illegal activities or political activism on the Fediverse. I think Reddit was just demanded to turn over some (subset?) of discussions about copyright piracy. They might get away without the subpoena altogether on the fediverse arguing the data is already public.
Also, isn’t onion service pretty much used to hide the server’s IP, but doesn’t do much about hiding anything for the end users?
Thanks, now I can’t unsee it.
He does recommend using the built-in browser’s password managers; he just had beefs with how the extensions, which the non-browser password managers have to contend with, are implemented, and with the security of the vendor’s network and software. He himself uses Chrome password manager.
There are transplants here on Lemmy, but few subscribers, and few contents. Some likely would remain that way.
Choco it is then 😋
For on-line RSS reader, try https://www.inoreader.com . I love it. You can search for feeds right on the site, or can go to a specific site to look for a feed sign. For example, Lemmy has a feed URL right next the question mark on top, so you can read your Lemmy’s subscriptions as a feed as well.
Yeah, some spiritual experiences can be classified as psychiatric conditions. Normally, these conditions are not considered problems unless they interfere with life functionings or if they bother the person.
One upvote means at least one person appreciates you. More than that, there are no karmas or anything. You can use the votes to see the most appreciated comments, though.
Minimally, a web browser on other platforms with Task/Calendar opened and notifications enabled, or with an extension, would suffice. However, this may not be customizable enough.
I personally wouldn’t voluntarily use Apple products myself, but I have people close to me that buy iPhone because they think that’s the best smartphone they can buy. There are some truths to it from the standpoints of warranty policies, technologies, privacy policies, update policies, securities, and reputations.
It’s like, he doesn’t know whether or not it’s going to work, so delays paying anybody (except obviously the lawyers) as long as possible. When it really doesn’t work out, nobody gets paid. If it somewhat works out, he negotiates the payment down. Do you want it, or do you want more delay?
Very good to hear your perspectives. I find myself lost in the barrage of new comments as well.
One, since I didn’t know how to pick. But it seems great so far.
2 for kbin, because I had no clue, but Lemmy is much snappier. Most likely will be deleting those.
Because you put in magnets to attract it. 😇
