I’ve also wondered that for the longest time. It was also like that when it was sync for reddit. At first I thought it was just a quirk specific to my phone.
I guess I’ll be spending a lot more time on Lemmy now. It’s like sync never went away ʘ‿ʘ
Is it the android community you’re referring to? As I believe that is run by the same moderators as was on the original subreddit, which is a shame.
I don’t feel like transplanting the exact same leadership / moderator teams as was on Reddit is always the best idea and some element of choice is important.
I’ve been using Kagi for the past two months. Honestly, I’m pretty happy with it and I can’t think of any major misses in terms of search accuracy. I think it’s very difficult to get out of the mindset that search should be free, but I’m trying to put my money where my mouth is as it were, to try to support adtech free services.
I really like the first one, it has quite a playful feeling to it.
Another lurker here, but somehow it feels like it has been a lot easier to post on here compared to reddit. Hopefully Lemmy continues to have good discussion without devolving too much into reddit meme comment chains and the like.
I guess it was inevitable when everyone and their dog rolled out a streaming service that eventually they’d have to squeeze subscribers more to stem the losses.
It seems like if the streaming platforms licensed each others exclusives in the same way no music streaming service has much exclusive music, there might be less profit but it might have been more stable for them.
