Trump will be worse for marginalized people, trans folks in particular. Harris has a history of supporting LGBTQIA+ rights.

Trump will be worse for Palestine (and has said as much). Harris has at least entertained a cease fire.

Trump, despite the lies that he utters, will make every move to implement Project 2025, which will destroy any semblance of democracy. Harris won’t do that.

I am so sick of the bosthsideism bullshit. Just because they are both bad, does not mean one isn’t dramatically worse. This election is going to be close, and as shitty as it is, the US is a 2 party system. Third parties do not have a chance with the current electoral system.

If you want that to change, you have start local and work up the chain. Not voting or voting third party is pointless until there is a change in system, and that starts locally.

Very. I have had to use the terminal for a couple things (VPN and some Switch modding), but 99% of the time it is unnecessary.

Mint has not worked well with my Nvidia card either. Pop_OS is doing great, though. They have an Nvidia specific install with some optimization for Nvidia cards.

Discord works great on Linux nowadays. Depending on the game, anti-cheat might also be fine. I play Helldivers 2 without any issues. It’s fine if you don’t have the oomph, but Pop_OS and Bazzite are both super solid ditros with a gaming focus. I have been using Pop as my only OS on my desktop for months now and really only needed the command line for VPN access and Switch modding

The difference for me is that while I do try to avoid those things, it is not possible a lot of times. I can avoid buying a game 100% of the time. They are essentially a luxury item.

While I can’t say that Saber for sure works this way, but every studio I know of pays a salary, and the sales of the game don’t factor in (with the exception of bonuses and maybe shady practices around contracted QA). The article even states they are busy working on their next game, so those people are currently being paid.

I don’t believe anyone is calling out the employees in this situation. I think the difference is agency. I can choose whether or not to spend money on the game, thereby choosing whether or not to send money to the Russian government. A Russian employee does not have that choice, much like people in the US don’t have a choice to pay taxes that fund a genocide. People buying leisure items do have that choice, though.

This is not about the politics of the company or whether or not the people support the government. Influence is not the point. This is about material support to the Russian government. Money spent on the game goes to the Russian government in the form of taxes. This blurb says it in plain text:

Amazon is kinda known for burn and churn. They like have the appearance of a good place to work by not having a dress code, letting people bring dogs in, and being the kind of place that has beer on tap. None of it is worth the burnout though
