People gotta start working the hours they’re paid for. If I’m working my shift well then it’s not my fault that the company is understaffed and I am not gunna bust my ass to cover for someone’s poor leadership.

There actually are things that one just cannot find elsewhere easily, and most of the places that reliably carry them locally are places like Walmart which aren’t better. That said, it’s always the very last place I look.
With all this nonsense I’m going to start asking local stores if they can order stuff for me, though, and just be extra patient. For example, it’s wild how little there is for mandolins at local music stores but at least the British strings I’m going to try switching to are there so that’s something.
“Just because they disagree with the politics” look we can say what we want about the burning Teslas part this isn’t a “little disagreement”. Musk’s a full-blown turbo-Nazi and in and in Germany, where this happened, he’s pouring money into the AFD which is essentially just the return of a German Nazi party. Don’t water it down.
ICE cars are filled with gasoline and function by blowing it up, the risk is clear. EVs should not be catching fire.
Also yea, I want people to use public transportation, actually. And I want villages to return, not these horrendous sprawling “small towns” where, despite having less stuff than my Montréal neighbourhood, it’s a huge pain to get anywhere and you need a car at least simply because too many jobs that could be remote aren’t.
At some point you have to draw a line, and the car sold by the guy who’s directly helping to destroy the US, helping the AFD in Germany get more power, and cutting aid to so many other countries which will lead to millions of deaths is a pretty fucking easy line to draw. Besides, as the saying goes, “electric cars aren’t here to save the planet, they’re here to save cars” so take public transit and fight for it if you don’t have it(also this is in Germany and Europe generally has more options than the backwater that is the US).
There are plenty of other options that aren’t so boldly rotten as Tesla, too. People not wanting even the slightest inconvenience is how we get into these messes and it’s time to buck up and deal with it.
Civilized countries require insurance so that victims aren’t at fault and on the hook, and better ones will even provide it(the province of Québec does the liability portion, for example).
Like the other person said, you can at least control what you interact with directly. So you cancel your Prime subscription and turn your lights with your hand instead of an Echo but you don’t worry so much about trying to figure out if any of the several companies involved in making [product] have some form of attachment to AWS.
And there will be some level of consumption in this horrible system that’s not gunna be good in order for you to not be horribly depressed but people can shed more than they think and alternatives do exist for many of the ones you might put at lower priority.
No, that makes sense. I just missed him aswell/only had a couple years of it and it’s definitely nice to be able to look back on it instead of live it.
And yea, PP was his right-hand guy or whatever during that time and has always been a real douche. He didn’t grow into a conservative, he’s always been that guy. Sequels are so often clunkier exaggerations to capitalize off previous success, instead of doing their own things, and if PP gets in that’s what we’re gunna be dealing with.
Don’t forget hiding in a Brazilian bathroom because he didn’t get to be a special boy for no reason!
Well yea but that’s a low fuckin’ bar.
Also much of what he’s asking for is either something that’s being taken care of or straight-up isn’t a real problem.
Americans: “The French are cowards!”
The French:
—
Seriously, the French are constantly standing together against shitty policy and bad conditions and the US is constantly rolling over for people who only have the power they give them. Go France, you tell ‘em.
Sure but the French cars are cheaper to make up for it, are they not?
Also lol at VW meeting emmision standards. I know it was more specifically about the diesels but that still doesn’t fill me with much trust.
At least it’s fairly obvious what’s American, and it guves the plausibls deniability. A lot of stores in Quebec will tell you what’s a product of Canada and what’s a product specifically of Quebec and that’s enough for me.
Let’s go neutral and lock-in the Subarus we already love here. Or maybe even Renault and Citroen since they’re French and we don’t have them yet? VWs are expensive garbage. Honestly most German vehicles I’ve had the displeasure of being near are remarkably bad for the reputation and price tag they have.
People are very stupid, you see. It really is incredible how much the news is like “hmmm, jury’s out, could really go either way” on shit where there’s essentially everything but Israel saying the word “genocide” but even then…
There is more than just “main stream media” out there. And yes, it’s a hard battle to fight, I won’t deny that, but c’mon, really? And this also goes back to the fact that too many citizens don’t even know what’s going on at any given moment out of willful ignorance.
Lol are you trying to say I’m being racist towards US citizens? No, your country hates Latin Americans because of a myriad of eggregiously false claims and what is real is largely because you fuckers won’t quit meddling with their elections, funding para-military groups, or imposing embargos.
You(generalization) are not the victims, you are the problem finally meeting some consequences. I’d be so much more happy to help if more of you would acknowledge that but too many even in this very comment section are trying to avoid responsibility.
I think that the last people I want here in Canada are the ones who run from their problems before even trying to protect their country from a hostile takeover. I don’t think you’re all the worst, I think that your best is rare and that most of you are not nearly as great as you think you are.
We have enough of that shit here and don’t need even more of that dead-end attitude diluting anything good we actually do have. Hell, I’m not even as active as I probably should be, but then again I’m not dealing with a fascist potential dictator currently trying to overthrow longtime allies.
To be honest, since most places ship from their physical locations(which may not have stock or carry something at all due to demand) and Amazon’s incredibly predatory practices it means that they are pretty much the only option. I’ve gotten stuff from Etsy as well(but it doesn’t help for, like, water filters and certain appliance parts), and I really have always tried to avoid Amazon, but there are just some things where they’re the only ones where I can buy some of this stuff.
And like I said, I’m gunna have to just start asking outright for stuff even if whatever store doesn’t carry it normally. It’ll take some patience but I’ll live.
