Yeah this has been online a while now and I’ve seen no attempts at providing evidence from theconcernedbird other than linking to the github that shows examples of how it can be used.
Persona Management software has been around for a long time, so it’s not even like the idea is even new, it’s just a new way of doing the old thing that’s been going down on the US internet since about 2010-2012ish.
We need actually evidence it’s being used for specifically this, not just an example of how it could be detailed in the github. The entire Republican establishment and corporate establishment function almost exclusively on the idea of “plausible deniability” it’s all about what can be proven in court, and now these groups have such massive coffers or money that almost nothing can be definitively proved in court. It’s why Musk wears his cheating and his alts and his nazi salute like medals of honor because “nyeah nyeah you can’t prove it.”
And part of the reason they act that way is because US courts have fecklessly surrendered “the justice system” to the corporate class for fifty fucking years or more, if they ever weren’t being bought by corporations. They’re legally shielded by our idiot ass broken fucking system and now they’re literally rubbing our faces in it.
Honestly, having said we need hard evidence, I’m not even 100% sure that hard evidence of this even matters anymore. It feels like the Iraq War torture leaks, and the Snowden disclosure… What changes? Nothing changes. The government was always just gonna keep doing what it did, and now Trump has taken steps to take quick control of all of that and twist it into his own dark ends.
I’m not OP, but maybe this one?
Seconded for Soulseek.
can I for example upgrade the OS?
I mean, technically, sure.
But what I suspect you’re really asking is “has someone else done the legwork to create a stable build of a modern version of android for what is probably a very underpowered device since it’s in a vehicle.”
The reality is you would probably have to dig into the hardware, find appropriate drivers, and then dig into the AOSP and build a stable Android build for it from there. And depending on it’s age, you might only be able to upgrade it to a certain point and not all the way to current Android. (For example, LineageOS no longer directly supports Google Nexus devices because their hardware is simply too old to work with the new versions of Android)
Because sadly, the likelihood of someone already having done it for an obscure vehicle head unit is less likely than, say, a flagship phone that tons of people own. It’s not impossible, someone may have already done the work, but I’d wager on that not being the case, because I’ve had just slightly unpopular phones that there are no LineageOS builds for, for example.
Piholes make this dead easy because you can go through a list of connections and block/unblock suspicious ones until you get the right one.
Without a Pihole I guess some kind of packet inspection? uBlock is pretty in depth tho, it may show you stuff like that and I am just oblivious since I spend more time tuning my Piholes.
RegEx also works wonders, and I’m pretty sure uBlock Origin supports RegEx
He thinks he’s doing that Art of the Dipshit “Anchoring” shit.
Maybe we’ve been misunderstanding what Closed Source really is this whole time?
It’s a codex holding back “eldritch cognitohazard” horrors that the technopriests of Microsoft have captured and tamed into an operating system. Releasing the source would release the beasts into our reality, much like the plot of John Carpenters In the Mouth of Madness.
Well, figured out one good reason for closed source, I guess. Let’s not solve this LeMarchand’s Box.
I need more IRC screenshots in my life.
“There’s nobody you can talk to. Everything is automated.”
Yeah this is the stuff that needs to be regulated asap. You should have to have a contact you can refer to for pay disputes, this just creates an unreasonable burden on the person being paid when they have no one to contact.
Those who read history are doomed to watch those who don’t read history repeat it.
Sounds like the management at Tiktok see it as politically expedient to fluff Trump to be able to continue to have access to the US market.
I think they mean “beaten badly” as in “lost control of all three branches of government” not so much “Trump landslide vote.”
The person you responded to even said “Dems got beaten pretty bad” not “Harris got beaten pretty bad.”
By the metric of losing the house, losing the senate, losing the judiciary, and losing the presidency is a pretty deep blow.
Why are the journalist bending over to Musk?
Because performative protest like wearing pussy hats isn’t actually as effective as general strikes or direct action.
The McResistance fades because that’s all it ever was.
I’m a self-hoster and self-admitted energy-addict.
On one hand, I think getting away from corporate control, self-hosting, and data archival are important, on the other hand they are also deeply resource intensive.
I think in the future whether we like it or not personal computing as we know it might go the away simply due to energy constraints and it may be more like if people are lucky they have a small, low-powered command line device like a Raspberry Pi, probably with very high latency.
Black box algorithms should be banned.
Social media algorithms affect society deeply.
Why the fuck are they allowed to be black boxes instead of forced open for the scrutiny of legislators, the courts, and the public?
Nah, instead of doing anything fucking reasonable like regulating the algorithms, we’re just gonna ban ones we don’t like.
Are we in a simulation ? Controlled by some tech companies and political parties ?
No we are not. I recall Marshall McLuhan telling a story about early Egypt. Originally, the power in society was with the Priest caste, because they could write (heiroglyphics). Eventually though, papyrus was invented, and the Military caste began to use it to do things like document stores, send short messages, and so on. The language on papyrus was used in every day life, the heiroglyphics were not. So, over time the power in society moved from the Priest caste to the Military caste because they were in charge of the useful communication tools.
In the modern era, software code is quite literally language made manifest. Only a relatively small number of knowledge workers speak these lagnauges fluently, and it does give them deeper control over the world because now everything runs on computers and software code. We have handed control in society over to the techbros accidentally by centering software so much they essentially can put a gun to the head of society and say “Hey, without us, all this stuff stops working. Do as we say.”
Traditional media/communications was our Priest caste, and the tech community is the now the new Military caste, having developed and are in control of the dominant and important communications infrastructure/language.

It’s arguably already happening considering they’ve taken money from Blockchain Capital.
I mean, even Jack Dorsey left because he thought it wasn’t actually decentralized, and that guys a stupid asshole in it for all the wrong reasons.
Mormons seen nervously filing away all that “Native Americans are the lost tribes of Israelites” real quickly.
