After reading A City on Mars by Kelly and Zach Weinersmith I think a O’Neill Cylinder spinning spaceship for artificial gravity type is more achievable than planarity colonisation.

But the main point of the book, and I am fairly convinced of the more I think about it, is that it is a lot of effort and risk for not a lot of gain and we are entirely unprepared for space colonisation.

My brother got me into Frostpunk recently. It’s been kicking my ass lol

GTA 5 used an in-house engine (used previously, sure, but StarEngine is also modified from a pre-existing engine). The combined development and marketing budget is US$265 million. Development started in 2008 and released in 2013.

Cyberpunk 2077 also used an in-house engine, budget (not sure if marketing is included or not) is US$316 million. Development started in 2012 and released in 2020.

To put it to perspective Star Citizen’s Kickstarter started on 2012. GTA 5 released on 2013, and GTA 6 is supposed to be out in 2025. If it doesn’t get delayed too significantly we will get 2 full GTA games before SC is released.

Personally I don’t find a huge difference with reddit and threadiverse, at least for larger subs. Sure, on paper there are hundreds of comments, but most are the same tired decade old memes. You can predict what the comment sections are gonna be like from the title alone. At worst you get similar comments here, but you don’t have to dig through hundreds of comments before finding something worthwhile.

I have no idea what that person meant. The only thing that Revanced “injects” are info and updates of the app. The only thing I can think of is if they’ve installed it from a sketchy unofficial source.

ReVanced, in conjunction with MicroG, allows youto be logged in to Google while still having an ad block and sponsor block on mobile. Also setting up might be a little more difficult since it needs you to patch a YouTube apk yourself.

I understands this might be the exact opposite of what some people want but it works for me.
