I see your point with WWII, but that’s not this situation. I would personally never kill anyone, it’s against my ideals. No fire burns that hot inside me.

The IRS is temporary. The country is temporary. The ground you walk on is temporary. It’s all a grand, elaborate dance of pointless space-time and there is nothing as important as how you feel and how you make others feel.
But do pay your taxes.
My parents weren’t bad parents. They did their absolute best to raise me coming from trauma themselves. They still don’t even know they suffer from it. Their trauma made me feel like I was not good enough. However, I will pass intrinsic value and compassion on to my kids.
Everything is temporary, friend. Money, possessions, and stature won’t make you happy. You have to happiness in yourself. You can do hard things and you are worth happiness.
Self-defense, non-violence are clearly not the same thing as pacifism. I can agree to that. But then the view of victim can be awfully grey. And thank you for not being rude and trying to understand without judgement.
