Oof that sucks.
Oof that sucks.
Israel obviously doesn’t think so
Okay so 2 allies, 1 neutral, and 2 enemies. I’m purely just trying to head off the whole, “everyone is Hezbollah” argument I fully expect to see when Israel escalates this.
Some authors straight up tell you where they get the most money for your purchase. Hardcopy is almost never it. But also those mini share libraries are cool and I like dropping sci fi books in.
Any of the third party reading apps and any epub file you store yourself. So if you buy an ebook from Amazon but get the epub version instead of Kindle then it’s protected from deletion. This is because you store it like any other document and your epub reader just reads the file.
DRM fuckery means your mileage will vary.
What do you mean? Bookmarks with no labels and highlights with no indexing isn’t enough for you? What do you want, integration of open source note taking software with Google Books?!? That’s ridiculous, nobody would ever use that…
Okay but for real. I got through college using One Note’s snip tool to take pictures of the text and paste it into my digital notes. So that’s a way to do it. It does suck that we have all this tech but we won’t let it talk to each other because rich people have to get richer, even around academia.
Yup. I’m not saying they’re nice cuddly people. But Lebanon contains other people too.
After I posted I was reminded that it’s still common in FPS games to brick the graphics so there’s less hiding spots. But also my graphics card is like 7 years old and runs everything I’ve come across except Star Citizen. (Which is its own whole level of fuckery)
I don’t think most PC gamers are running 4k. With all the price shenanigans in the GPU market over the last 5 years, actually achieving 4k has been an expensive journey for anyone doing it. Especially when games play just fine at half or a quarter of that.
Fucking 70 years ago. Is Germany still the enemy of the UK and US too?
Hezbollah isn’t a country. They are, at best, a political party.
Not even one enemy, Lebanon just wants to be left alone. Israel is using conventional tactics in an asymmetric fight which they know doesn’t work. They know it only increases membership in terrorist groups. Israel is destabilizing their region on purpose.
If we had installed a tribal council with a few elected positions to counterbalance it; not let the DEA burn cash crops, (buy it and give it to the pharma companies); and installed basic corruption controls, (including among our own reporting lines); the Taliban would never have been allowed back into the country. They were the best alternative in 1991 and remain so in the people’s eyes. They have been ripped apart by fighting since the late 1970’s, they’re tired and want the peace more than they want rights. They would have taken both if we had been even halfway competent and not hellbent on creating USA II: The Middle Eastening.
There was a lot wrong in Afghanistan but it wasn’t the use of force. The people there absolutely wanted a chance to get out from under the Taliban. Bush fucked it from the beginning though, trying to give them the world’s most corrupt western style government, lying about reports of the Taliban resurging, and letting the DEA loose on their cash crops. You could easily see just how badly the country wanted the Taliban back with the massive waves of people fleeing them. We failed them badly, but not in the way you guys think.
People keep making the mistake of thinking the super rich have loyalty to a country.
Oh good we finally trained them enough. Can we please get rid of captcha now have the next portion?
What’s more important, an old painting or the people enjoying it?
Just do anything as long as you don’t have to be inconvenienced. Got it.
Point of order, they didn’t block the road. They were up on the sign poles. The police stopped traffic.
Oh that already happened too. A bunch of blind people got implants and the company abandoned them.
