Stuff like that will probably never be the same as talking with an actual person since by design it can’t comprehend its input or output.
However it will be close enough to be a learning experience. Learning a language in class has the same problem that it can’t replace communicating with actual people other than the teacher.
Well probably because it does not know what’s going on around it. It only knows the words. It can’t interpret the words, only guess what is the most likely answer word by word.
