Everything I see about the statistics of those who previously voted biden, then sat out harris, show the largest single demographic, by far, was older white men. You have anything to counter this? The gaza sentiment, while truly more popular than the powers that be wanted to propose, is a lot smaller, when leveled against the entirety of the non GOP voting population, than progressive venues, especially online ones, want to pretend.

As an example, not a single person in my mom’s big social circle, most of which are not GOP supports, has said one damned thing about the genocide in gaza, and they talk about political issues fairly frequently, even if it is just snipes at someone. Their age/race/economic demographics make the largest portion of those who voted. In the spaces my family live in, down south, people in the their 20s are talking about politics, but gaza isn’t much of a topic, and often when it is, they openly say things to show they need to worry about home, not gaza. The ones who differ are your classic WEIRDs. This same thing holds in a lot of the region I live in, the midatlantic/midwest appalachia region. These people lost her, or at least played a major part in losing her, the election in GA, and PA. They voted mostly based on how bad economic life is for them. They voted stupidly, and are now pissed that they made it worse, but it wasn’t gaza that they gave two fucks about. The one place gaza, likely, truly damaged the harris campaign was MI, because it is second only to India, in muslim population, outside of muslim majority countries.

You can totally make programs to scrape the internet for places that have posting functionality, crawl the scraped sites, and auto post. These already exist, and you can buy them, or get them shared to you from various sources. Most of these sites use template software to run their sites. It is not nearly as difficult as people might think to accomplish this. Bot traffic is 50% of internet traffic.

Do these places have general function bots that make it on to lemmy, and even smaller places? Yes. I think that is because most people are only aware of its use as what are, effectively, chat bots. Which, while the most widely used application, is one of its least useful. Yeah, you have to have access to top secret documentation, and make that public, before you get in trouble with the government in the US, by talking about their actions. While a serious issue, it’s not very comparable to simply talking about something that happened, out in the open, that has video, and photo, evidence of it circulating all around the world, getting you in serious trouble with the government. We can even openly talk about what was on those documents, without being swept away by the federal government, now that it is public.

This is just another person who has sided with one evil, and will always whataboutism for them.

They are the US intelligence operation in the middle east. They are an attack dog for the things the US finds important, meaning they agree with us on economic operations, and will go to war to protect it. Israel, Saudi Arabia, etc. These are all just countries who are willing to actively work in the economic interests of the US as it benefits them. This allows the US access to their intel, to put military facilities in their countries, to use new weapons systems through their conflicts. They protect the standing of the petrodollar.

The US doesn’t give a shit if a tiny, powerless, economically insignificant population, or a thousand, get wiped out. Preserving US domination is more important to the US government, and states like Israel will kill anyone in pursuit of that status quo. The only people they would need to have black mail on are government actors who aren’t willing to support them, there are not a majority of those, yet.

It went from niche hobby, to large secondary media market, to the largest entertainment industry in history. Game companies are, as you brought up, no longer being run by people interested in video games. While a lot of the talent they hire, are still people who are passionate about video games, a lot of them are, just people who learned a skill, in order to have a productive career. The latter is becoming a larger, and larger, percentage of the people actually making video games. Video games are just another industry now. Just like any other, they exist to make money, and the people who work for them are people who just want a pay check.

The indie development scene is the only hope really, for people who don’t want the top 40 pop charts version of games.

This is a well known issue with refugees of hyper-authoritarian places. NK refugees discuss this a lot. Like the other person said, this is a well known phenomenon with freed prisoners, too. Basically you spent so much time conforming to a very, very, specific way of living, that you are stuck in that mind frame. Without a lot of therapy you are likely to be unable to adjust.
