im not social but once I got my chats under control I would joke and clown around on them. Well as well as give advice or do actualy game related talk. To me its sorta like a party and I was more likely to engage socially when I was just hanging for one reason or another and more likely to talk business when the action took place. Like champions had these whole zone super enemies called cosmics that popped every four hours and if you came last minute you would likely get locked out of the full zone and they were impossible to beat below a certain threshold of players. so like you would hang out ten or twenty minutes before and screw around. talk and emotes and whatnot.

I actually feel one problem with the modern age, in america in particular, is this idea of everyone doing everyone for themselves. doctor, accountant, lawyer, mechanic, it guy, plumber, electrician. Initially gas stations pumped the gas, checked your fluids and tires, and would top you off as part of the service. no one did that stuff. if your tv broke you called in the tv repairman and you got your milk from a milkman. people were expected to know their jobs and not necessarily everyone elses.

I for one find your explanation very fitting.

I know tons of people even 30 years ago that could not check the oil on their car and would call triple A or their insurance company for a flat tire. Heck I had a friend we practically had to beg to bring his car in for an oil change and that is just a number and calendar date to keep track of and most places put a little sticker to give you that information.

I think there is some sort of automated system being used often because I have seen the same spoken word by a character some up as different words and sometimes its even almost a catchphrase yet it comes up with it differently.

I mean you should be able to unsubscribe the same way as you unblock. Would not be bad to have an override to so you could go through and unblock some stuff. Like if someone signed up for my blocklist they would have a bunch of sports stuff blocked because I have no interest in it.

I got annoyed because it would crash and then when you would be placed at the start and have to fastforward but then when you got to certain points in the fast forward it would flip to commercials. to damn annoying.

I have recommended at times being able to subscribe to a persons block list. Like being so impressed with someone that its like. Hey if they block it then I don’t want to see it. Especially given the spam. I would love all the power to block to be in the hands of individuals. Im generally against defederating or even moderators to some degree. It sometimes feels to me like the people who don’t like individuals blocking stuff get all onboard with it being blocked for people from higher ups.

I agree with it as non sarcasm. Yeah years ago there was the bubble but there is loads of crap now. You have to filter and its up to the individual to do it for good reasons and not just feelings.

honestly no other word just sums it up. real world is not as exact and is two words. actuality. not online. none are as satisfying.

for myself I have always been sarcastic and in meatspace was also well known for devils advocate as well. I actually try to curb it as much as I can manage with online because of how what I view as sarcasm seems to be part of a variety of folks actual beliefs.

There was a genesis version of shadow run where they fixed the bug with melee and to much cyberware and allowed you to choose your race at character creation. They have not been kept up though it did not really work for me in a recent iteration.
