Which, in this particular case, wouldn’t be a bad thing. Just integrate the community aspects into Google Maps, make them optional.
The problem is: The die-hard CDPR fans pre-ordered the game (me included), then played through it despite the unfinished state and bugs (because we already waited a long time) and then never touched it again. So I read that they improved the game massively but I just never saw a reason to play through it again with so many other great games on my unfinished list…
Maybe a DLC could change that but I kinda made my peace with this game so I’m good.

It is a policy decision. And sadly, it is a pretty popular one. Rescuing these people would mean that the rescuing country needs to grant them asylum. Doing so would incentivize more refugees to choose this dangerous path as it would be a passage to Europe.
This is one of the reasons why the far right political parties in Italy are so successful. They promise Italians that they would stop this type of immigration. And the rest of the EU accepts this quietly because it solves their own issues with immigration.
The power of Reddit lies within its very diverse and many communities on special interests. People browsing r/piracy also browse the Frontpage, r/all and so on. But mainly their special interests is what kept them there. Because funny memes can be found everywhere.
Now, if those special interests are not being served any more, people will go elsewhere. So no, I don’t think they will be happy and investors won’t be either.
