The only reason I boot up Windows at this point is to play shooters with EAC. What do you guys play if you’re looking for a quick 20-minute firefight?
Xonotic is always a good one.
Insurgency Sandstorm is pretty good and CS:GO is always a classic go-to.
Shatterline and Caliber
Both free to play, on Steam, and work using Proton.
I play a lot of Apex Legends. It works very well on Linux.
Splitgate
Battlefield 4 is still good. Plays well under Linux, graphics are good, servers are still packed and it’s quite challenging.
Not sure if you’re fine with a paid game, but Halo: The Master Chief Collection recently got Linux support for multiplayer - though they have the Steam launch options reversed so you have to select EAC disabled at launch, in order for it to be enabled lol (thus allowing you to play online)
Additionally, Halo Infinite’s multiplayer mode is free, and also works on Linux.
Hunt Showdown runs on Linux with Proton and it has EAC
It does!? Since when, this is news to me.
Older game but red orchestra 2 is a classic ww2 shooter with a decent online community. Matches are around the 20 - 30 minute mark.
Some EAC games support linux like halo. I played MCC and the performance was fine, but I found the game to be unstable when interacting with the menu/UI.
I play halo mcc and infinite and also recently started playing warframe thats more of an mmo shooter
My go-tos are tf2 and tf2 - that is Team Fortress 2 and Titanfall 2. Both work great on Linux and have really dedicated communities. Titanfall 2 even has the Northstar client.
CS:GO, Halo MCC, Overwatch 2
though I don’t know if OW2 counts as good anymore, certainly not a fan of the changes, but it still works on Linux
