I think it’s a little more important than email provider no? Doesn’t it also control what content you see?
As in with beehaw as an example if your instance defederates from a bunch of others you suddenly just don’t see that content for choosing that instance
Makes me kinda worry for the platform, if we do this shit we’re gonna end up really thinly spread over a bunch of different closed ecosystems

The good news about that is, as email, we can have multiple number. And the app ecosystem growing now permits easy change between accounts.
