Once again the “Christian” right proves they are nothing but ignorant un-christian wrongdoers. No bible passage nor any passage from any christian text can “justify” violence or murder by war of any human being, under any circumstances, ever, for any reason at all. There is only ONE major commandment that is cited in the bible, and that is simply this. “THOU SHALT NOT KILL.” God did not even allow an excemption to that rule for Moses, who could never enter heaven after he killed an egyptian. I’m not religious, but if you are religious in any way shape or form, you must realize there is no excuse for killing, ever - and no man or woman shall be forgiven for causing death to another, no matter what the reason. Period.
I don’t know about that, this seems right on par with biblical teachings. The God of the Old Testament arbitrarily commanded genocide against innocent men, women, and children justified only by eradicating “moral wickedness.” You can argue that the birth of Jesus brought a new era of peace and that the God of the Old Testament operated differently than the God of the New Testament but it doesn’t change the fact that the Bible is full of religious sanctioned violence and most Christians see nothing wrong with that.
