Pocket will be shutting down on July 8, 2025. This is very disappointing as I love the compatibility with my Kobo.
Finally
Good news. I couldn’t stand that feature baked in Firefox.
[…] the way people save and consume content on the web has evolved, so we’re channeling our resources into projects that better match browsing habits today.
…in what way?
AI
ugh
Now do the CEO
In the year 2035 Mozilla will just be a board with 40 million in compensation. No products, just asking for donations to advocate for a free web.
bold of you to assume they will be advocating for a free web, when they are barely doing it now.
Free as in freemium
Again? She just joined like two years ago.
Mozilla is Google but somehow way worse
Ugh. I just recently switched back to Pocket after Omnivore shut down, now I gotta go through it again.
Always hid it anyways.
I use Pocket and Fakespot. Now what? I requested my Pocket data to be downloaded, so I’ll have that at least. Fakespot was really valuable, losing it really sucks.
Switch to an open source alternative so you don’t have to deal with services shutting down the same way. Some alternatives include Wallabag, Karakeep, Floccus, Otter.
Stupid Mozilla. Check out Instapaper for a similar service.
