Actually just did this (used ChatGPT haha blush) to create a script to take a songlist and output it reformatted so it says what time each song plays and now i just need to find a good source for album tracklists and I’ll have a great toy solution for that problem

I dont want to spend 3 days or even 3 hours on tinkering to get that right, its enough for me that if it doesnt do what I envision I know how to reprompt or reframe or do some trial and error tests that help nudge the approach to where it produces what I need from it and i can move on to the next problem or iterating on this to refine and improve the solution. Maybe even my overall process, who knows

No no, thats not what I meant. I mean just that I usually keep my eyes peeled for apps that do the same or a similar function as a redundancy backup plan type thing. I know its super in-fashion to shit on the concept of “vibe coding” but I really do wish there was a more boilerplate way to remove having to worry about designing the UI/UX so I could focus on getting the MVP functionality down and having it relatively neatly display, more akin to designing a form or Apple Shortcut.

I have tons of forms I’ve designed that are basically de facto programs that I can whip up super easily and just pick the data “type” for each “line” of the form which essentialky equates to a line or block of code in a code program. Decent looking enough, interactive, can easily high-level edit and tweak shit and test it to make sure it mostly fool-proof produces the outputs that are needed.

Whenever I think of all the graphical and UI and UX stuff that has to go into making a viable app I get so discouraged, I hate having to think about all that stuff and the geeking around to make it functional let alone aesthetic
