I am NOT in any way well known in this topic, so take it as source? my ass answer, but if I’d have to guess it would be

1. Poorer singlethread performance of ARM CPUs
2. Missing instruction sets
3. Android algorithms written in Java/Kotlin where as Windows (WinRAR, 7zip) are written in C/C++

I am from EU so you are probably fine.

On my rooted LineageOS ROM it works just fine, just gives a warning when starting it for the first time that I am using a “rooted device” and how my “security might be compromised” but it lets you continue and doesn’t show it ever again.

I say that mainly because of the Motorola’s past with repair services of the outer sceen and casing. They will do it, for almost the price of a new phone. So as sick as the screen looks, when it breaks, you will have a pretty sick paper weight or pretty empty wallet.

• not saying other phones don’t have expensive replacement screens, just usually not as expensive as the device itself

Would Edubuntu be a better fit?

I know there is a plugin that allows glsl shaders as plasma live wallpapers and I bet you could make some sort of shader that just changes hue of the texture over time if one doesn’t already exsist.

I still use discord with friends, matrix if more for foss software comunitys imo (kde, godot etc). As lkng as Discord doesn’t test their luck with people like Reddit does people will stay there. That was a case with Skype.
