My friends convinced me to play Destiny 2 a couple years back. It was pretty fun and I was definitely enjoying myself for a couple days. But that’s when I found out they vaulted all the previous content from when the game came out. Felt like I was starting the game halfway through the story with no concrete starting point so I lost all motivation to play it again. I didn’t pick up the game so I could read up on the story line and watch youtube videos just to understand what’s going on. You’ll never get that many new players if the first thing you have to do before you play is do homework.

Whether you like the idea of SteamOS or not, this will be the easiest way to get Linux into the mainstream for gamers. And at a time when Windows is forcing everyone to buy a new PC it really couldn’t come sooner. If Steam timed this right they could really fuck over Microsoft. I honestly can’t think of a more hilarious scenario in which Windows potentially gets dethroned.

Steam gets a lot of deserved flak for their anti-consumer practices and gambling, but it’s honestly amazing how much they can do as a company. It’s amazing the things you can accomplish when you don’t have shareholders to deal with.

Back in like the late 2010s it was an old coworker of mine. He came in two years after i started and swooped in and took the promotion I was gonna get because he went to highschool with my bosses daughter. I’d be more mad at the boss but this guy was absolutely insufferable about it and would boast about it literally every day and talk about how awesome he was. Would always talk about how amazing he was at his job but would crack under pressure pretty much every time. He was also one of those guys that’s nice to your face but talks mad shit when you leave the room. Huge “fuckboy” energy too and always felt like he was entitled to everything. He was the kinda guy that would try to fuck your ex girlfriend the day you broke up yet still be friendly to your face. And I know that because my ex told me about it after the fact. Bro straight up sent her a request on Snapchat and Facebook out of the blue within a week after only meeting her once before.

Glad I don’t work with that guy anymore and that I have a much better job. That guy lives rent free in my head and I fucking hate that he does.

This is purely anecdotal, but I have been running into a lot of DNS issues over the past couple months where I work. 3 of the computers and even one of the laptops for remote work were having DNS issues that needed to be fixed. One even needed Windows reinstalled after fixing the DNS issue (Which was probably unrelated, but worth mentioning)

I’m honestly starting to think that the internet in general might be imploding. Not sure why, but replacing so many developers and programmers with AI might be responsible. Who knows, but it’s definitely very strange.

Last I heard there was a massive problem with cheaters and are planning a lot of microtransactions. Like, I’ve heard that in some cases every other lobby has a cheater. Not sure if that’s still an issue, but if it is imma still avoid it. It was definitely fun when it first came out and I hope they do something about the cheaters or already have done something about the cheaters.

This was probably on the back burner and barely being worked on until they saw if Oblivion Remastered would be successful or not. They’re under Microsoft now and they could get shut down for any and every reason. And especially so if they waste money on developing a game that wouldn’t be profitable.

As much as I hate the idea of remastering all their games instead of just making another fucking game, Fallout 3 is incredibly unplayable on modern PCs. You have to spend 5 hours modding it just to get it to work properly and even then it will still crash 4 times in the span of one day.

This is just a hunch I have, but I’m pretty sure the reason why so many high-end and very well made indie games are starting to outnumber triple A games is because of layoffs like this. It’s not like all these thousands of people would choose a different career just because they can’t work on one specific company. And if we can get more games like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, I’m all for it.

I played it too and I 100% agree. However, I feel like it’s always a good thing to keep in mind that the best time to play an online shooter is when it first comes out. That way you get to at least have fun before all the casual people move on to other games and the sweaty people are the only ones left. My friends convinced me to try Fortnite just a couple years ago and all that happened was I got stomped every match and was like “this is fun for you guys?” I’ve been playing Overwatch since release and it’s basically impossible to get a match I’d consider “fun,” so to speak. I just wanted to get in on the fun for Battlefield before it turned into all sweats. Now I’d prefer to just avoid it all together.

Not gonna lie, I was pretty stoked for Battlefield 6. Haven’t played one since 3 and all my friends were gonna get it. Guess I’ll just go fuck myself and keeping playing Overwatch or something.

Who are the ones really celebrating his death? The ones that thought he was an asshole or the ones that are using his death in every way possible to push their own personal agendas? I betcha in private these people are laughing their asses off and being waaaay more disrespectful than any of us have been.

Ouch… I’m up to 800 games on steam and have probably only played half and only beaten 20% of those.

My guess is that there’s something else going on because two of my friends play Valorant and had no problem playing it. They even played Valorant the day after the beta for Battlefield 6 ended.

And some people just like ass more than others. I personally think the PS1 aesthetic is charming when done right. But that’s just my opinion, totally fair to disagree.

Nostalgia turns it into an art style and aesthetic. The same thing happened with pixel graphics. We’re going through the ages of video game graphics again as people that grew up with those games are now the ones creating the games. In a few years i bet we’ll start seeing games with the aesthetic of GameCube and the PS2 games.

Personally I think it’s a good thing. When it turns into an aesthetic it never truly dies and it makes the style timeless. We’ll be seeing pixel graphics and PS1 style graphics in games until people get bored of it, which they never will.

If you could explain how you got to that conclusion I would love to know. Not trying to be rude, just interested in where it’s coming from.

It’s the same religious organization that went after them NSFW games on Steam. Like the games or not, it’s always a slippery slope with this kind of censorship.

The same reason every politician and government will never release them, because they are trying to protect themselves or someone else. As long as money and power remain the only things politicians care about this will never get released. And I find it absolutely infuriating that these people will always prioritize reputations over the literal r*ping of children. There are literally hundreds, if not thousands, of people just blatantly getting away with it because apparently every single elite is in on it.

That’s what I do too. I’ve bought it for all my friends or have convinced them to get it. Feels like I’m a drug dealer trying to push it on everyone I know lol.

But at the same time there are plenty of indie devs that sell games for $30 and then have a few $15 DLC on top of that after a few years. Not throwing shade at those other devs, more just saying that the dev for Stardew Valley could have sold DLC and nobody would have questioned it but chose not to. You could be like Stardew Valley and keep the game cheap, free updates, and frequent sales or you could be like Factorio and refuse to ever put your game on sale and up the price every couple of years and come out with a $20 DLC. And I’d be shocked if Stardew Valley has made less money than Factorio in the long run, especially with it being the in number one place right now.
