The Russian National Guard and Police have reportedly begun to establish Checkpoints at Key Intersections around the Capital of Moscow and at Exits from the City, in order to hopefully find several of Attackers from tonight’s Terrorist Attack on the Crocus Concert Hall who are believed to have Fled the Venue.

Damn man. This is why they said the US must share all the info they have “to prove it wasn’t Ukraine”

      They couldn’t catch/kill them.

The US warned Russia two weeks ago about this happening. And Putin called it blackmail. ISIS apparently already claimed the attack .

And let’s be honest: Russia will find a way to blame that on Ukraine anyway.

The Russian National Guard and Police

“The National Guard is separate from the Russian Armed Forces.[3] A law signed by President of Russia Vladimir Putin established the federal executive body in 2016. The National Guard has the stated mission of securing Russia’s borders, taking charge of gun control, combating terrorism and organized crime, protecting public order and guarding important state facilities.[4]” source

Reminder: Putin sent about 10% of the Russian National Guard to the Ukraine in January source

I wonder if the effectiveness of Russian National Guard in protecting Moscow was affected Putin sending many of them to Ukraine.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

The United States collected intelligence in March that Islamic State-Khorasan, known as ISIS-K, the branch of the group based in Afghanistan, had been planning an attack on Moscow, according to officials.

After a period of relative quiet, the Islamic State has been trying to increase its external attacks, according to U.S. counterterrorism officials.

“ISIS-K has been fixated on Russia for the past two years,” frequently criticizing President Vladimir V. Putin in its propaganda, said Colin P. Clarke, a counterterrorism analyst at the Soufan Group, a security consulting firm based in New York.

“ISIS-K accuses the Kremlin of having Muslim blood in its hands, referencing Moscow’s interventions in Afghanistan, Chechnya and Syria.”

The attack on Friday in Moscow, like a January assault in Iran claimed by the group, could prompt a reassessment of its ability to strike outside its home territory.

The United States had warned Iran of a possible attack ahead of twin bombings in January that killed at least 103 people and wounded 211 others at a memorial service for Iran’s former top general, Qassim Suleimani, who was killed by a U.S. drone strike four years before.
